Wolcott College Prep’s Collaborative In-School Recording Session

Wolcott’s Music Production class met with the Instrumental Music class for their first joint project on Friday Feb 24th during an in-school recording session. Wolcott musicians wrote original music to accompany stop-animation projects developed by the media and art classes. Each of the student producers took the lead in engineering one of these pieces. The group also captured a studio recording of the instrumental class’s performance of The Cranberries’ song “Zombie”.

This entirely student-composed and student-produced session was a fantastic success. Not only did students have an opportunity to put their technical skills to use, but it was also a great exercise in taking feedback and remaining flexible, as both classes worked together towards a common goal. In the end, everyone had a great time and Wolcott students produced a great collaborative project to be on display at the Spring Showcase.
