At Solomon Schechter Day School of Metropolitan Chicago, we ignite our students’ Jewish souls, educate them to their highest potential, and empower them to use their knowledge, skills and creativity to enrich our world.

Solomon Schechter Day School has two campuses – our Sager Solomon Schechter Day School (K-8) in Northbrook and our Early Childhood Center (ECC) in Skokie, which serves 15 month old through 4 year-old children.

Solomon Schechter offers a rigorous dual-language General Studies and Judaic Studies education with cutting edge, award-winning curricula. Students gain a rich foundation of knowledge, enabling them to thrive academically and engage in Jewish life anywhere in the world. Our goal is to ensure that students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in high school and beyond. A Schechter education promotes values-based decision making, critical thinking across disciplines, an analytical approach to problem solving, and the knowledge, ability, and desire to make a difference in the world today and in the future. The learning that takes place in the classroom in both general and Judaic studies is enhanced with the latest technology including computer labs, mobile lab units, iPads, Smart Technology, and interactive web-based learning. The curriculum also includes classes in the fine arts (dance, music, art and performing arts), physical education, safety and health as well as a diversity of extra-curricular activities including chess club, math club, and a wide variety of after school sports and activities.

From the moment children enter our School they are immersed in an environment that promotes the Jewish values of derech eretz (kindness, consideration and respect), gemilut chasadim (acts of loving kindness), tikkun olam (care of the world), and tzedakkah (righteousness).
