Chicago Friends School is a unique private school that is rooted in the Quaker values of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equity, and Service ( S.P.I.C.E.S). We take these ideas seriously that each student should be cherished for their unique gifts and that all aspects of development be supported. At CFS, we have an honest and open-minded approach to the curriculum and teaching with an emphasis on the development and critical thinking skills for all children.

Our school is built upon the principle that a child’s academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual development is seamless. We challenge students to think creatively and deeply about themselves and how they impact their community. We provide students the opportunity to take ownership of their education and help them reach their highest potential. 

From the early stages of kindergarten, our approach is to educate the whole child and meet the students where they are academically. As students grow and matriculate, we focus on problem-solving and find solutions to real-world problems. This provides our students rigorous and individualized classwork that is flexible to their needs. Our students work in a non-competitive and collaborative environment. Our teachers are committed to helping students achieve their goals in a supportive manner in the classroom.

Our diverse and inclusive community is comprised of 50 students with a student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1.
